We have a Tankless water heater that is not working properly... a Paloma we purchased from HomeDepot. I would like to get an estimate for a Rinnai. This is for a Propane installation. We have the 4" vent and 3/4" gas line for the current installation.

Hot water heater either needs a new dip tube, or replacement.

Before installation, make sure that your house meets all venting and other requirements. For instance, a gas tankless water heater will need Category III stainless steel venting. Many building codes require special specifications to be met before installing a gas tankless water heater, so make sure that you check your codes. In the case of an electric tankless water heater, make sure that your house structure meets voltage, amperage and circuit breaker specifications that are necessary before installation. If you are making a choice between gas vs. electric tankless water heaters, it helps to know that gas water heaters not only offer an increased flow rate, but also have greater energy efficiency than electric models.
Tankless water heaters are perfectly suited for remote bathrooms and sinks, BBQ areas, hot tubs or as a booster for a solar water heater. You may find gas tankless water heaters to be more energy efficient than electric tankless water heaters. If you do intend to purchase an electric tankless water heater, consider the amperage requirements, voltage and circuit breaker needs. Also compare instant water heaters among the various brands that are available like Noritz or Aquastar tankless water heaters.
